Optimist Club of St. Louis congratulates sponsored golfer Sidney Roseman who placed 2nd in Girls 10-12. She has qualified and is eligible to advance to the Optimist International Championships at Doral Resort and Spa in Miami, FL

About Sidney Roseman –

Hello, my name is Sidney Roseman and I’m a 10 year old junior girl golfer. My golf journey began when I was 6 months old when I attended my first charity golf scramble with my parents just outside of Chicago, Illinois. At the age of 2, I received my first real set of golf clubs. For my 5th birthday my parents gifted me a set of golf lessons with my very first coach Doug Schultz at Back Spin Golf. Coach Doug helped to foster my love of the game and to build the foundation for my current golf swing today. I started playing in tournaments at the age of 8 and my goal is to one day play golf for the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and hopefully make it onto the LPGA. When I’m not on a golf course playing or practicing, I enjoy reading and visiting the St. Louis Zoo.

Joe Hatfield praised all of the participants for their exceptional conduct and optimistic attitude at this event. “The players were not only talented but they are polite, courteous, respectful, and they follow and understand golf rules and etiquette in every way” Joe said. He also noted that this golf event is one more way of carrying out the Optimist Club’s goal of “Bringing Out the Best in Youth.” Throughout the entire year the over forty East Missouri Optimist Clubs conduct positive service projects in their respective communities.  These projects may include scholarship opportunities such as the Oratorical and Essay contests, bicycle safety, sports programs, art contests, soapbox derbies, and so much more.
