Optimist Club of St. Louis special guest, Mary Saales, from Kiwanis International, participated at our monthly Club meeting as we discussed our joint efforts to help The International Institute St. Louis.
This collaboration would not be possible if not for Celebrate Community. Celebrate Community, is a joint initiative of the four major volunteer service organizations (Kiwanis International, Lions Clubs International, Optimist International, and Rotary International. This year’s launch focuses on local community service during the week of October 10-16, 2021.

Our two organizations are working together to benefit the International Institute of St. Louis (IISTL.org). The IISTL needs have increased due to the influx of refugees from Afghanistan. We will be volunteering during the week of Celebrate Community. Our collaboration will continue as our plans for the future will involve multiple clubs within our two organizations.
